I have been trying to live a more sustainable lifestyle for the past few years. While I spent a significant amount of my life in the Caribbean, where items are often repurposed, most meals are home-cooked, households typically have only one or two cars and electronic devices are used for extended periods, I now find myself in a more industrialized society. Here, I am mindful of my clothing purchases, opt for reusable containers for everyday use, try to carpool when possible, and make frequent trips to the grocery store to avoid buying perishable products in bulk. Additionally, I monitor legislative proposals and policymakers’ perspectives on sustainability.
