I absolutely loathe paperwork! It’s downright annoying and gets in the way of actual productivity. Why on earth do I have to fill out 20,000 forms before I’m able to assist a hungry person? Working as a humanitarian is beyond frustrating at times, and it profoundly hurts my soul. Another issue I’ve witnessed repeatedly is people becoming numb to the suffering around them as a means of coping with constant sorrow and pain. It’s a coping mechanism, but I wouldn’t wish burnout’s effects on anyone.
It’s not my intention to speak negatively about individuals working in the humanitarian field. I understand the immense challenges and emotional strain that come with such work. However, it’s essential to acknowledge that others rely on these individuals. Recently, I needed time to process a situation as my thoughts were racing, and I struggled to articulate my pain and sorrow. It’s common for those in the humanitarian field to develop a savior complex, a multifaceted issue that warrants further discussion. It’s essential to recognize the potential dangers associated with this mindset. I am disillusioned by the lack of meaningful discourse on social media, where individuals often prioritize trivial matters over the bigger picture.
Man, I’m so glad my brain is fully developed now! I wouldn’t want to relive my younger years for anything! It’s a huge relief to think, see people for who they are, and stand up for myself. With everything happening worldwide, knowing what to focus on is hard. Multiple genocides, the heartbreaking killing of Sonya Massey, more hashtags in the black community, the Olympics, and even basic grocery shopping becoming a luxury for essential items… And what about putting a stop to Project 2025? We’ve been through a lot in America over the past eight years!
During times of mixed emotions, I appreciate the support from friends and family and am grateful for the chance to work in a field I love. This has made me realize the importance of choosing a career path that aligns with your passions rather than solely considering external factors. I spend a significant amount of time at work, reinforcing the importance of enjoying my work. It’s heartening to see younger generations recognizing that they are more than just their professions. Our careers don’t define us, and it’s something to reflect on. I find it intriguing to see people identifying themselves with their work titles, even in non-professional settings, and I wonder about the reasoning behind it. Just a thought worth considering.
PS: Man! I have not felt this light for a long time! I really think we have chance! Make sure you register to vote though!

It will be so amazing to see Kamala win the presidency. History is being made as we type!! Trump cannot and will not see the Oval Office again, only the inside of a courtroom!!
