What constitutes home for me? To me, home is not just a physical location. It’s the family I was fortunate enough to be born into. No matter where they are, that’s where I feel at home. This is my standard response to the question about home. However, if you were to delve deeper, I’d say I feel far from home, my native islands.
I have been living away from home for almost eight years, facing numerous challenges. Although there have been some positive experiences, uncertainty surrounds my eventual return. Despite the difficulties, I continue to hold on to hope, recognizing that despair could easily consume me without it. My journey has been one of resilience and perseverance, marked by a strong desire to maintain optimism and keep moving forward. Throughout this time, I have been navigating the complex process of immigration.
