Only Five More Minutes.

Share a story about someone who had a positive impact on your life.

My Uncle Pierre has been a steady and grounding presence in my life for as long as I can remember. A quiet force—never doing too much, never seeking attention—yet always available whenever I needed him, in any capacity. He has lived many lives, marked by ups and downs, triumphs and setbacks, and through it all, he remains a living testament to the power of manifestation and resilience. No matter the circumstances, he’s always seeking the next opportunity, always moving forward—and somehow, he always lands on top.

Years ago, when I was a college student, he shared a piece of wisdom that has stayed with me: “Hunger only lasts five minutes. No matter how hungry you are, after five minutes of eating, your brain starts sending signals that it’s time to stop. So be careful not to just eat anything—what you truly want might show up a few minutes later, and you might no longer have the appetite for it.”

Of course, he wasn’t talking about food. He was teaching me about discernment, patience, and discipline in the face of adversity. That principle has shaped the way I make decisions even now, more than ten years later. In moments of uncertainty, I remember his words—and I wait. Because sometimes, what you truly want is just a few minutes away.
