Not my App!!!! Save my App!!

As I’ve shared in previous posts, I’m really struggling with grief right now. This has been the most challenging experience I’ve ever faced, and I don’t expect things to improve for some time. While I’m not trying to rush my healing process and don’t have any deadlines in mind for feeling better, I am making a concerted effort to take care of myself during this challenging period.

So, friends, I’m not sure how 2025 is treating you, but it’s been quite a rough start for me! First, let’s talk about the weather. Seriously, I want to ask Mother Nature what her plan is. I understand it’s winter, but this bitter-cold wind is just too much! It’s so intense that I worry about people with Cybertrucks in Quebec—they might be in trouble! Of course, they chose those vehicles, so maybe they brought this upon themselves. Nonetheless, a little mercy would be greatly appreciated for the rest of us just trying to get through the season!

Now, let’s shift gears and talk about the emotional roller coaster we’ve been on! This week has been particularly stressful for us avid TikTok users in the U.S. It seems like every couple of hours, there’s a new update about the app’s uncertain future. Will it really be gone by the 20th? What will happen to all the creators whose livelihoods depend on it? With everything else going on in the country, how is TikTok still the primary focus of lawmakers’ attention? All of these pressing issues feel incredibly overwhelming, and it can be frustrating to see an app that brings so much joy and income treated as a significant problem.

Anyway, this coming Monday, I plan to draw inspiration from our first Black First Lady by choosing not to focus on the events unfolding in the White House. Since it’s a workday, my main priorities will be staying hydrated and tending to the business that actually pays me. In fact, this will be my guiding principle for the foreseeable future. Like many Black women in America, I aim to prioritize my well-being, care for my loved ones, and embrace a lifestyle that promotes rest and self-care. I’m allowing myself to be excited about the journey ahead and thinking of ways to cultivate positivity and joy in my life. What about you, friends? What are your plans for the next four years?

P.S. What is your most controversial idea?
